What is Jasper?

Jasper is a form of silicon dioxide, generally either red, yellow, brown, green, and sometimes blue.  The name “jasper” has its origins in French and Latin roots, and means “speckled stone.”  Jasper was a popular ornamental gem since ancient times.  There are numerous different names for the unique colors of jasper, although they are rarely official names.

 

Meaning of Jasper Mala

Jasper stone has healing energy that are slow-working.  Jasper represents stability, especially through change.  Jasper provides a stable source of positive energy and courage, and is also known to promote justice.  Jasper’s protective quality is unique, in that it protects us from ourselves.  Jasper helps us not get lost in our thinking, get carried away, nor act impulsively.
