Daily Mindfulness 12/2/12 – Right Thought

Right thought is one of the most important aspects of our mindfulness practice.  Our thoughts turn into actions very easily if we are not mindful.  During sitting meditation, we are practicing Right Thought, but what about during our day?

Practicing Right Thought during the day is a simple practice.  We keep it in our minds to watch our thoughts,  and begin to notice where our thoughts are wandering or hurtful.  Thinking can be debilitating, so when we feel overwhelmed by our thoughts, it is crucial for us to practice Right Thought by letting our thoughts and emotions go, and think of what we can do to fix our dilemma.  Right Thought is one of the foundations of our mindfulness practice, as it leads to better action, speech, and compassion.
